Efforts to get more people booking Brazil flights 'on track'
Government plans to encourage more people to book flights to Brazil are proceeding on target.
By Calton Leisure - Jul 22 2010 9:35:49 AM
A strategy to get more leisure travelllers booking
flights to Brazil
is proceeding according to plan, officials have insisted.
The Brazilian government this week confirmed that the nation's airports are to be upgraded before it hosts the Fifa World Cup in 2014.
This means people who have booked
Brazil flights
will be able to make use of brand new facilities as soon as they arrive in the country.
However, some have questioned whether the planned infrastructure improvements will be completed on time.
As a result, President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has stated that "things are happening very quickly" and assured critics that the work will be finished in time for the World Cup.
Optimism was also expressed by Eduardo Paes, the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, who said the city will be ready in time for 2014.
"People should come, because if they don't they will be missing a great party," he told BBC News.
