Britons to be urged to book flights to South Africa
Consumers in the UK are to be encouraged to book flights to South Africa by tourism officials.
By Calton Leisure - Jul 22 2010 11:02:22 AM
Flights to South Africa
may soon be attracting much more demand from British leisure travellers.
South Africa Tourism plans to visit different parts of the UK in order to showcase the country's various attractions.
Matt Armstrong, trade relations manager at the group, told Travel Daily that the roadshows are designed to "keep up the positive energy" in the wake of the recent World Cup.
He added that the tour of the country would "make sure the trade are in the right position to know about South Africa".
This could potentially trigger a spike in demand for
flights to Johannesburg
and other key locations such as Cape Town among Britons.
The World Cup has led to widespread optimism among South African tourism officials regarding the future of their industry.
Government spokesperson Themba Masek recently predicted that the World Cup would fuel an increase in the number of visitors to the country, as the tournament has significantly helped to improve its image around the world.
