Sri Lankan Airlines, the flag carrier of Sri Lanka and its fellow oneworld member Finnair have launched a codeshare in an effort to deepen both airlines’ network as well as to boost tourism between Sri Lanka and Finland. As part of the agreement, from 2nd June Finnair’s code will be added to select Sri Lankan services between capital city Colombo and Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, London, Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Sri Lankan’s code will accordingly be added to Finnair services between Helsinki and Frankfurt, Paris, Rome, London, Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen. According to Mohamed Fazeel, SriLankan Airlines’ head of commercial operations, the partnership with Finnair will expand Sri Lanka’s reach to the Scandinavian region. The airline will continue to partner with many other oneworld members in order to provide more direct connections to Colombo.

The airline already operates existing codeshares with oneworld members Malaysia Airlines and Royal Jordanian and is set to launch a new codeshare with S7 Airlines sometimes in near future.
