London - Ahmedabad direct flight to soon become reality

From December this year, flying to Ahmedabad from London will be an easy affair. An announcement of this effect was made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. The services will be started from December 15, 2016.

He made this announcement at the iconic Wembley Stadium while addressing 60,000 British Indians.

India’s national carrier Air India will operate this route. With Britain is home to a 1.5 million-strong Indian diaspora, the flights are expected to be well received by travellers.

Ahmedabad is one of the major cities in India and a major hub of trade and commerce. The city boasts impressive history, magnificent buildings, excellent museums and scrumptious dining options. Apart from that the city is also an important hub of industry that draws a large number of business travellers. Ahmedabad also offers an excellent gateway to famous Somnath Temple and Gir National Park that houses largest concentration of Asiatic Lions.
