Qatar Airways’ Airbus A380 to debut on London Heathrow

Qatar’s national carrier, the Qatar Airways will fly its first Airbus A380 to London on 17th June. The airline has 13 superjumbo aircraft on order with three expected to be received this summer. The new aircraft will operate on the QR003 and QR004 London Heathrow-Doha route. According to Akbar Al Baker, Qatar Airways chief executive officer, it is a significant moment in Qatar Airway’s history to welcome these aircrafts in airlines’ rapidly expanding fleet.

Operating on the London Heathrow-Doha route, these aircrafts with their customized cabins will set new level of comfort for passengers. The passengers will also benefit from a smooth and pleasant passenger experience at the world’s newest airport, Hamad International Airport, the soon to be opened new home of Qatar Airways.

The carrier’s first double-decker Airbus A380 will have 517 seats in all including 457 in Economy, 52 in Business and 8 in First Class. The A380’s First and Business Class cabins and a special lounge area for premium passengers will both be located on aircraft’s upper deck. Each seat converts to a fully lie-flat bed with 90 inch pitch offering plenty of room to stretch out. Economy seating will be split between both floors of the aircraft. There is also a 26 inch personal HD video screen and companion dining seat for the passengers to enjoy their journey.
