Austrian Airlines, the flag carrier of Austria, has launched Manchester - Vienna service. With this launch, it has become the first airline to operate a daily service between Manchester Airport and Austrian capital. The services on this route began last week.

A senior official from the airline who looks after the operation in the UK, Ireland & Iceland welcomed the first passenger at Manchester Airport saying the service is added to meet passengers’ demand.

He further said that in recent years the Vienna has emerged as number one onward destination for Lufthansa passengers departing from Manchester. So the airline decided to launch direct flights. With this launch the number of travelling time for passengers has reduced significantly. It has also increased the connection options for customers in the north of England.

A top official from Manchester Airport expressed his pleasure on launch of this route. The airline will operate this route using a Fokker 70 / 100 aircraft.
