Passengers flying from London to Austrian capital would soon have increased flying options as British Airways is set to launch flights from Gatwick to Vienna later this year.

The proposed service, to be operated six times a week, will start on September 17. The flights will be operated using Airbus A320s.

With this launch the airline will be adding its 45th short-haul route from Gatwick. The carrier is already flying to Vienna from Heathrow.

Apart from this, the airline will launch seven new routes from Gatwick this summer, that include Heraklion (Crete), Bodrum (Turkey), Dalaman (Turkey), Cagliari (Sardinia), Rhodes, Funchal (Madeira) and Sharm El Sheikh (Egypt).

An official from the airline at Gatwick said that there are very few cities in Europe which can equal Vienna’s culture, history, cafes, museums and an array of world-class music festivals.

The services to Vienna will be operated from Gatwick daily except Saturday from September 17, until the start of the winter schedule in October.
