Etihad to launch triple-daily A380 service from Heathrow

Etihad Airways has announced to operate triple daily A380 services from Heathrow by the end of the year.

The airline has unveiled the first of its 10 A380s to deploy it on LHR – Abu Dhabi route from December 27.

The luxurious aircraft includes a first-class 'apartment', called Residence, featuring a lounge, bedroom and shower. The airline also showcased its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Abu Dhabi. An official from the airline said that the A380 will be their flagship aircraft at London Heathrow.

The carrier currently operates three services a day between Heathrow and its hub at Abu Dhabi. He further said that eventually Heathrow would have three A380 flights a day.

The carrier also has plans to deploy A380 on its Sydney and New York routes. Apart from these 10 A380s, the airline has another 70 Boeing 787s on order.
