As a destination, the credentials of San Francisco is beyond doubt. The city of Golden Gate with its magnificent hills, spectacular bay, immaculate natural beauty and a vast array of attractions is always a great destination for travellers. But if you have explored these city several times and want to do something new embark on a day trip a city’s neighbourhoods are equally good for tourists if not better.

Yosemite National Park and Giant Sequoias Trip

Steal some time from you busy schedule to catch immaculate natural beauty of Yosemite National Park from San Francisco. During your visit hike some trails and catch spectacular view of the surroundings. Explore its countryside and view the raw beauty of its popular natural reserves. The trip will take you through Sierra Nevada and gold rush towns.

Lake Tahoe

Situated in Sierra Nevada area this freshwater lake can be accessed from San Francisco. The lake on the borders of California and Nevada is quite popular among vacationer visiting the City of Golden Gate Bridge. There are some hotels in vicinity where you can have some quick meal. It takes little more than three hours to reach this destination.

Berkley

Situated at a distance of around half an hour, the town of Berkley makes for an excellent gateway for travellers visiting San Francisco. The destination situated in East Bay is well known for its world class educational institutions and politics. The city is home to several world class museums that include Berkeley Art Museum, Berkeley Marina and Pier, Berkeley Rose Garden, Indian Rock Park, Lawrence Hall of Science and People's Park. The tourists who are on a trip to San Francisco should plan a visit to Berkley to add variety to their tours.

Oakland

A major port city in California, Oakland boasts of a city with great weather. A drive of around 20 minutes takes you to Oakland where a large number of tourist attractions await you arrival. 16th Street Station which is well known for its great facade is one of the most visited attractions while African American Museum & Library at Oakland, Jack London Square, Oakland Museum of California, and Joaquin Miller Park are other major draw cards for the city. Cultural and sport lovers would find themselves perfectly at home given its vast cultural offerings.

Sonoma County

Situated on the north coast of California, Sonoma County can be reached by driving for 45 minutes. The area still exudes a charm of post 60s Marin County. Blessed with beautiful coastline and vast pastureland the area is not bad for visiting for few hours. It takes little more than half an hour to reach this place.

Nevada City

One of the major urban hubs in California, Nevada City is fine combination of tradition and modernity. The city formerly referred as the Queen City of the Northern Mines is good for travellers with its museum, art galleries, boutiques and restaurants. Sacramento and the Gold Country are most popular sights.
