Kaohsiung is a beautiful destination, not just an industrial town

Situated on the southern tip of Taiwan, Kaohsiung is the largest industrial hub in the country. Enjoying a seafront location, the city’s climate remains sunny and pleasant round the year. what was once a mere industrial and port city is now a urban hub with all the allures of a modern city - glittering cafes, wide streets, well manicured parks, excellent public transport and plethora of cultural venues. The city is constantly evolving and calling it an industrial city would be undermining its tourism potentials. Here we turn spotlight on tourist attractions in one of the hotspot destinations in Taiwan.

Love River

A visit to Love River could be one of the major highlights of your Kaohsiung tours as it is a cool and quite place. The banks are lined with parks and open air cafes where you can sip coffee, talk to friends or just sit idle taking a view of day to day life.

The Old British Consulate

Want to see spectacular sunset then The Old British Consulate could be your ideal destination. This red coloured building has served as the colonial mansion of the British Consul. Situated atop a hillock, the mansion makes a great sunset point. But as the sun retires you go for a tea or coffee at a nice restaurant situated here.

Buddha Memorial Center

Buddha Memorial Center is a Mahayana Buddhist cultural, religious and educational center, Situated at the north-east of Dashu Township in the left bank of the Gaoping (Kaoping) river. The architecture of this temple is one of a kind. A more than 100 meters golden statue of Buddha Amitaabha is a major attraction here.

Kaohsiung Museum of History

Housed in a former city government building Kaohsiung Museum of History has several photographic displays, a permanent 2-28 Memorial and other exhibits. Situated next to Love River, the museum attracts a large number of native and foreign vacationers.

International Lion Dance Festival & Competition

If you want to catch people of Kaohsiung in their true mood visiting this city during International Lion Dance Festival & Competition could be a good decision. The festival held in December every year is an ideal opportunity to see great folk culture of the region. This two day festival attracts thousands of travellers from Taiwan china and other neighbouring countries.

Tuntex Sky Tower

With a height of around 350m Tuntex Sky Tower is tallest building in Kaohsiung and has enjoyed the glory of being Taiwan’s Tallest building till the completion of Taipei 101. You should seek an opportunity to visit this building during your visit to Kaohsiung.
