Penang in Malaysia is widely acclaimed for its multiculturalism. The island city is replete with magnificent buildings, museums and temples and appears as a seamless blend of tradition and modernity. The island that was claimed by British East India Company in 18th century latter saw influx of Chinese immigrants who are now a significant part of Penang population. This small island charms travellers with its amazing diversity and holds something for tourists with varying inclinations. Penang Hill

Penang Hill offers the most spectacular view of Georgetown. The hills offers escape from the seething heat of the plains. The hills also house a well adorned Hindu temple and mosque on the top. Seeing well-lit Georgetown from the top is an experience in itself.

Tropical Spice Garden

Those with an interest in spices must visit the Tropical Spice Garden which houses more than 500 species of plants, majority of them are spices. On arrival the visitors will be able to see several species of plants. Once you are through with the visit of garden you can come to the restaurant located here that offers scrumptious delicacies.

Penang National Park

Spread over 2300 hectare Penang National Park is the smallest park in Malaysia. The park boasts excellent hiking trails, beaches and lush vegetation. Excellent guide facilities are available for those interested in trekking.

Streets of Georgetown

Walking through the streets of Georgetown could be an experience in itself as these streets are lined with magnificent buildings that date back to colonial era.

Toy Museum

If kids are travelling with you, take them to Toy Museum that houses more than 100,000 toys. You children will be happy to see this vast collection.

War Museum

Situated at the south-eastern tip of Penang, War Museum has served as the military fortress during 1930s. The museum features underground military tunnels.

Gurney Drive

A popular promenade in Georgetown receives great footfalls. The area is also famous for the ‘hawker’s food’ thanks to presence of various stalls in vicinity. Now the food market has been shifted in vicinity.

Kek Lok Si

Situated in Air Itam in Penang kek Lok Si is one of the major Buddhist temples in Penang. The temple is considered the largest temples in Southwest Asia. The temple has several shops in and outside its main building.
