The capital of Philippines is nation’s hub for education, business; transport and a dream destination for Filipinos who want to make it big in the city. Despite facing day to day problems of a big Asian city the local are animated. There travails make us sensitive but their smile is contagious. Here we suggest top things to do while in Manila.

Intramuros

Every visitor has a different set of destinations to visit but a visit to Intramuros is common to all. Situated south of the Pasig River the History Town of the Philippines is also referred as Old Manila and speaks volumes about the Spanish rule. This walled city is home to several tourists attractions. Fort Santiago is one such attraction here. The fort was used as prisoner-of-war camp during WWII by Japanese.

Jeepenyes

You might be using a luxury car or a brand new SUV but nothing can equal the charm of travelling in a jeepney. These jeepneys are popular mode of public transport in the city. These are brightly painted and local slogans are written on them. These could be overcrowded and not good in terms of comfort but still you should give it a try.

Pay homage to national heroes

Never miss an opportunity to visit Rizal Park the site of execution of several national heroes during the Spanish rule. Situated adjacent to Intramuros the park is the site where Dr. Jose Rizal was executed. The park is also a leisure spot for locals who keep frequenting the place on Sundays and national holidays.

Most of the visitors flying to Manila have  shopping on their minds. Manila is home to an array of shopping options with a high concentration of shopping malls but if you want to experience the shopping in Filipino capital than visit its shopping streets where haggling is the order of the day. The streets are crowded and flooded with cheap items.
