Male’s Friday Mosque

Male’s Friday Mosque is situated in the heart of the city. This magnificent mosque was built in medieval times during the reign of Sultan Ibrahim iskandar I. The mosque’s interior is decorated with fine specimens of ancient Maldivian art. This one of the most important landmarks in the city has been added in UNESCO World heritage tentative list.

Male Fish Market

Those who want to have a slice of day to day life of a common Maldivian should visit Male fish Market. The place remains abuzz with activities as fishing is one of the largest industries in Maldives. The market comes alive during the afternoon when fishermen come to sell their products. Tuna fish is high in demand from the sellers.
