Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has announced to launch a non-stop daily flight from Edinburgh to Abu Dhabi in 2015. It will be airline’s first service from Scotland.

The flights on this route that commence on 8th June, 2015, will be operated with an Airbus A330-200 aircraft  in two-class configuration, offering 22 seats in business class and 240 seats in economy class.

Apart from connecting Edinburgh to Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways’ hub, the services will also offer connectivity to airline’s other destinations across the Gulf region, Asia, Australia and Africa.

With the commencement of services Etihad will add third departure point from the UK. The airline offers triple-daily flights from London, and double-daily flights from Manchester.

The two cities already have great tourism link, and the UAE being Scotland’s primary trade partner in the Gulf region, the number of business travellers between these destinations is expected to grow.

As scheduled Etihad Airways flight EY28 will depart Edinburgh at 09:15 to arrive in Abu Dhabi at 19:45. The return leg EY27 will leave Abu Dhabi at 02:40 to arrive in Edinburgh at 07:40.
