American Airlines announces Manchester-Charlotte route

American Airlines, a major US airline headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas has launched a daily non-stop route between Manchester and Charlotte, North Carolina. The new route will become operational as of summers 2014, alongside new routes from the American east coast city of Barcelona, Brussels and Lisbon. The services to Manchester, Barcelona and Lisbon will begin from 22nd May while the services to Brussels will launch on 5th June 2015.

Passengers called Charlotte will have free access to the ‘Escape Lounge’ at Manchester Airport when flights debut on 23rd May. Flights will depart Manchester at 14.25 to land in Charlotte at 18.20 , while the return leg leave the US at 20.35 to land in Manchester the next day at 9.30. The Charlotte route joins America’s other flights to New York and Chicago from the north England Airport.

According to Suzanne Boda, American Airlines’ senior vice president of Asia, Canada, Europe and Cargo, by increasing the presence of American Airline to Europe to a combined 56 routes, the airline is providing its customers on both sides of the Atlantic with a growing choice of seamless connections to major business and leisure destinations worldwide.

Other seasonal routes of American Airlines’ include Paris to Boston, Rome, Dublin and Helsinki to Chicago, Rome to New York, Dublin and Madrid to Charlotte and Shannon and Athens to Philadelphia. Some of these are operated by American Airlines while others are by US Airways.
