Formerly known as Queen’s Day, King’s Day invite locals and visitors alike to go mad on the streets of Amsterdam to enjoy an open-air fun on 26th April 2014. Birthday celebrations for royalty are supposed to involve tea and a polite conversation but Dutch like to give their King a more rocking party. On this nationwide holiday in Amsterdam, people on streets, canals, parks and everywhere in between enjoy the biggest street party of the year. The canals fills with boats and streets with people who come from all corners of the country and beyond to enjoy this sprawling, disorganized and exhilarating day in the city which turned orange as people wear anything and everything in that color.

The name may have changed but the spirit of the festival day remains the same. Amidst the orange-pride there is live music, DJs, citywide street markets, face-painting, games and sports events creates an electric atmosphere that nobody wants to miss. Every year, the royal entourage visits a town or municipality in the Netherlands as part of the celebrations. This crazy, wonderful madhouse celebration is not to be missed events of Netherlands.
