British Airways has announced to move its London-Porto service from Heathrow to Gatwick in 2016.

Initially, the carrier will operate this route on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays when it starts at Gatwick on February 11. Currently, the airline operates twice weekly services on this route.

The services will be increased to six times a week during the summer when it will operate additional flights on Mondays and Wednesdays. The airline will deploy an A319 to operate this route.

Earlier easyjet opened a base in Porto and operates services from Manchester, Bristol and London Luton airports to this destination.

A coastal city in Portugal, Porto is known as a tourism and business hub. The city is highly admired among travellers for its magnificent bridges and wine production.
