Prestigious Prague Spring Music Festival

If you love music then you just can’t afford to miss Prague Spring, the most important classical music festival in Czech Republic held every year in Prague from 12th May to 2nd June boasts a wealth of participants from all corners of the world. The festival was started for the first time in 1946 in honor of the 50th anniversary of establishment of the Czech Philharmonic and 12th May was chosen as the opening date of festival as was the death date of Bedrich Smetana, a national classic music composer.

Since its inception, the festival has been a representative show of world music, its culture and its newest tendencies. In 2014, the 69th annual festival will be presenting fifty-one concerts at seventeen concert venues and encompass a number of special projects as part of the “Year of Czech Music”. Prague Spring now has the stature of one of the Europe’s major music festivals which provides opportunities for young performers through various competitions. The festival is a display of excellent world class artists, symphonic orchestras and chamber ensembles.
