Wizz Air launches Birmingham - Bucharest route

Wizz Air, a leading European budget carrier, has announced to launch flights from Birmingham to Bucharest.

Flights on this twice weekly route, which will be operated on Wednesdays and Sundays, will start on May 22.

Paul Kehoe, CEO of Birmingham Airport welcomed this announcement saying this route will give passengers more flying options for Romania.

Romanian capital Bucharest with its commercial and historic hubs attracts a large number of travellers. The announcement of new route is an evidence of airline’s strength as it announced another destination just two weeks after its inaugural flight to Polis capital.

An official from the airline said that they are thrilled to add fourth route to airline’s Birmingham network.  He said that the airline has added flights from Birmingham to Poland and Hungary just a couple of weeks ago and it is adding third country to its route network from here.

The addition of Bucharest to airline’s network allows business and leisure travellers to explore Romanian capital without any difficulty. It   will also strengthen business and tourism ties between the two countries.
