Wizz Air sets new hub in Romania, adds more routes

Wizz Air, a low cost carrier, is all set to open its fifth base in Romania. The airline will set up this new base in Craiova and add four new routes to Barcelona, Bologna, Dortmund and Rome (Ciampino), starting July 23.

The flights will be in addition to services to London (Luton) and Milan (Bergamo), being offered from Craiova. The airline has also announced to increase services on these routes. Now there will be four weekly flights to Milan and three flights to London, compared to two weekly flights to each of these destinations.

From Craiova, the airline will operate three weekly flights to Dortmund, and two weekly services to Bologna, Rome and Barcelona.

Founded in year 2003, Wizz Air is the largest low cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe. The airline operates services to 97 destinations in 35 countries with a fleet of 53. In Romania, the airline operates from its Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Sibiu, Arad and Targu Mures bases.
