Norwegian, one of the largest low cost carriers in Europe, launched inaugural flight to Madrid from Birmingham Airport yesterday 29th March. It is one of the first of three Spanish routes to be launched this summer.

The first scheduled service to Madrid was welcomed into Birmingham with a water-arch salute on arrival. The thrice weekly route will be operated on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Flights to Malaga will be launched today 30th March.

The services to Malaga will be operated three times a week on Monday, Friday and Saturday. The third and final route to Barcelona will be started on the 1st of June, operating twice weekly on Monday and Friday.

A top official from the airline expressed his pleasure saying it is time of double celebration as they are celebrating the launch of direct flights to Madrid and welcoming Norwegian to Birmingham Airport. He further said that launch of these routes is a clear indication of great demand for these routes. These routes are supposed to be well received by leisure and business travellers.
