First nonstop flight from Manchester to China starts today

Business and leisure travellers flying often to China from Manchester will enjoy a nonstop flying experience as Cathay Pacific starts flying on Manchester - Hong Kong route today.

The new services will open an array of opportunities for business travellers for both these cities.

With this launch, Manchester Airport has become first airport outside London to offer a non-stop direct route to China. The route is expected to give a boost to region’s economy.

The flights on this route will be operated four times a week. The launch of this route has created new jobs besides offering an array of business opportunities to explore. This direct link to china has put Manchester on tourism map as tourism and business destination for travellers.

Cathay Pacific will serve this route with a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with a carrying capacity of 300. As scheduled, the flights will arrive into Manchester from Hong Kong at 6.20am every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The return leg will leave Manchester on the same days at noon, landing in Hong Kong at 7.55am every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

A highly placed official from Manchester Airport has hoped that flights will be well received by travellers.
