Aer Lingus, the flag carrier of Ireland has announced to launch three new transatlantic routes. The airline will add flights to Los Angeles, Newark and Hartford, Connecticut, as part of its expansion plans.

With the launch of Dublin-Los Angeles route in May, the airline will be returning to LA seven years after the services were suspended due to the recession.

The airline suspended the services due to higher fuel costs, a weak US dollar and the economic slowdown.

The airline will operate five flights on this route from May 2016. Recently, the airline also introduced a new-look website and online booking system.

Aer Lingus would introduce daily services to Newark and Hartford, Connecticut, starting from September 2016.

Dublin Airport has recorded a 15 per cent rise in passenger numbers in the first eight months of 2015.
