Auckland - A vibrant city with great natural beauty

Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand elegantly combines vibrant city culture with immaculate natural beauty. Spectacular beaches, great dining options, top end shopping and exciting nightlife further makes it desirable. Come February and cricket enthusiasts from all over the world would be flying to Auckland as it is hosting three matches of cricket world cup 2015. And this one of the most livable cities in the world (according to Mercer Quality of Living scale) is raring to welcome cricket enthusiasts from around the world. Here we suggest some off-stadium activities for the people visiting Auckland.

Visit Eden Park

Once in Auckland, you should plan a visit to Eden Park where matches of cricket world cup will be played. Located in the heart of the city the stadium is home to Auckland Cricket since 1910.

Sky Tower

Apart from the cricket the city is home to several tourists attractions with Sky Tower being prominent among them. This 328 metres tower is the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere and offers commanding view of the surroundings as far as 80km.

Auckland Museum

Auckland Museum offers fascinating glimpse of history and culture of region. The tourists will see the monumental carvings, buildings, canoes and taonga (treasures) during their visit to this museum. The visitors can see cultural performances related to the Maori people.

Water Sports

The cricket lovers should also visit the harbour where they can indulge in several water activities. You can enjoy a jet boat ride, do whale and dolphin spotting, join a fishing charter, or take part in several other activities offered here.

Waiheke Island

Situated in the heart of the Hauraki Gulf, Waiheke Island is situated at a short ferry ride from downtown Auckland. The island is a hot favourite among nature lovers due to presence of huge farmland, forest, beaches, olive groves and several vineyards. The guests can also see local art experience water activities like kayaking.

Auckland’s Wild West coast

Auckland’s west charms visitors with its lush rainforest, rich wildlife and several spectacular beaches. There are also several walking tracks in the Waitakere Ranges that lead to beaches and beautiful waterfalls.
